We focus on true worship in our worship services. That is a worship from the heart and is all about Jesus! To facilitate that kind of worship we utilize a blended style of music. God didn't bless some styles of music and condemn others. Southern Gospel was once thought (when my grandparents were used to classical church music) to be too radical and too lively for use in true worship services. Traditional hymns (which originated with Isaac Watts in the 1700s) were uncomfortable for church groups 200 years ago because they sounded too much like the music of the popular set. Even "A Mighty Fortress Is Our God" was considered radical in the 1500s because the words were set (by Martin Luther himself, no less) to a drinking song from the German taverns. God honors those who honor Him. As long as the music is God honoring it is acceptable to God. We use some traditional hymns, some choruses, and some Christian contemporary style music in our services. We also have some Southern Gospel and even some Bluegrass Gospel in our musical repertoire. You may even see a dramatic skit or costume drama in our worship. The main thing in such services is that they honor and worship Jesus! We should never worship for show or for our own entertainment but for His glory! If you want to know more about who we are, why not come join us in worship and find out.
